Tourism revenue across Africa also showed strong gains. Countries such as Morocco (+19%), Egypt (+17%), and Mauritius (+10%) recorded solid increases in tourism receipts in local currencies, reflecting higher visitor spending and improved value per traveler.

UN Tourism expects global travel to grow between 3% and 4% in 2026, with Africa positioned to benefit from:
